Target Beauty Box is a monthly box filled with skincare, makeup, and hair care products. Items usually come in travel- or sample-sizes, although full-size products occasionally get included. This isn’t a traditional subscription; boxes are one-time purchases in-store or online.

This box is for… stocking up on travel essentials and trying out new-to-you products!

Cost: $7 per box

FIRST IMPRESSION

This is a really cute box! It’s also very sturdy, and I’m happy to find another use for it. The theme for this one is “Spring Travel Essentials”. A bit of a downer since we’re all canceling vacations to protect our vulnerable populations from this pandemic…but, hey, a little retail therapy doesn’t hurt!

I don’t know about you, but I get excited when a box is full of products!

ON TO THE ITEMS!

We got a full-size item this month!

  • schmidt's deodorant
  • natural deodorant

Schmidt’s Rose & Black Pepper Natural Deodorant

Size: 2.65 oz

RV: $7.99

This is the item I was looking forward to the most! I’ve never used natural deodorants before, but I’ve always wanted to get one. This one is formulated with hemp seed oil, which is forgiving to sensitive skin. It smells lovely! The rose and black pepper notes balance each other out well. It applies smoothly and feels lightweight. It works for me as a deodorant, but I do spend most of my day in front of a computer. It holds up pretty well during yoga, but I’m looking forward to trying it out for more strenuous activities when the weather gets warmer.

Here are the travel-size items:

  • thayer's

Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Toner Facial Mist – Rose Petal

Size: 3 fl oz (Full size: 8 fl oz)

RV: $4.12 (Full size: $10.99)

A second rose-scented product – Woohoo! This one also smells fantastic. It’s got a great floral base with a light, herbal twist. It’s alcohol-free, and it settles on the skin without drying it out. I don’t have a use for this right now, but it will definitely be good for summer!

  • nexxus shampoo

Nexxus Therappe Ultimate Moisture Shampoo

Size: 3 fl oz (Full size: 33.8 fl oz)

RV: $1.68 (Full size: $18.99)

Oh, I love the scent of this shampoo. I can’t quite pinpoint it, but desserts come to mind. It’s lovely. It lathers really well; I enjoy using it on my long hair. It’s a great size and will probably last a few weekends of getaways!

  • dry shampoo

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Unscented Refreshing Dry Shampoo

Size: 1.6 oz (Full size: 7 oz)

RV: $1.09 (Full size: $4.79)

I appreciate that this product doesn’t have a scent. This is great for days when I want to use a perfume or a scented lotion because it doesn’t compete with those scents. This formula doesn’t weigh my fine hair down, and it doesn’t leave a white residue. I have a ton of dry shampoos thanks to subscription boxes, but I’m moving this one up in the rotation!

  • ogx dry shampoo

OGX Refresh & Restore + Coconut Miracle Oil Dry Shampoo

Size: 1.75 oz (5 oz)

RV: $2.44 (Full size: $6.99)

I’m not a fan of this warm coconut scent, but it dissipates quickly, which is good. It might be a little too “extra strength” for me because it made my fine hair clump together. You’re supposed to spray from a distance of 8-12 inches, which I didn’t do, so that probably explains why my hair turned into chunky locks.

  • nexxus conditioner

Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisture Conditioner

Size: 3 fl oz (33.8 fl oz)

RV: $2.57 (Full size: $28.99)

Like its shampoo counterpart, this is made with elastin protein and green caviar. It works really well on the ends of my hair, which has a propensity to go dry if I’m not super careful. The scent of this formula is a bit sharper than the Nexxus shampoo that came in this box, but I still like it. This, too, is a generous amount of product, so I’ll be using this for a long vacation!

  • cetaphil

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser For use on Combination Skin Normal to Oily Skin Types

Size: 1 fl oz (Full size: 16 oz)

RV: $.59(Full size: $9.59)

I try a lot of products on my face, which is not always great for my sensitive skin. Cetaphil is wonderful for people like me who have sensitivity issues. I like using Cetaphil cleansers for a few days after my skin has had a bad reaction to a new product. It keeps my face clean without aggravating conditions.

FINAL IMPRESSION

I like this box! All the items are useful, and I’m so glad I’ve been introduced to new products! My favorite would have to be the Rose & Pepper deodorant. I’ve been wanting to transition out of aluminum-based deodorants, so I’m excited that this came full size!
