I’ve been slowly building up my nail polish collection, so when Target came out with this nail-themed box, I couldn’t hit that “purchase” button fast enough! Did Target “nail” this box? Let’s find out! Here’s my review of Target Beauty Box – June 2020 Nailed it box!
Target Beauty Box is a themed monthly box filled with products you may find in the Target beauty and wellness aisles. Items usually come in travel- or sample-sizes, although full-size products are occasionally included. This isn’t a traditional subscription; boxes are one-time purchases in-store or online.
This box is for… stocking up on travel essentials and trying out new-to-you products!
Cost: $7 per box

FIRST IMPRESSION
How gorgeous is this box? One of my favorite things about Target Beauty Box is the box itself. Not only does each month’s box have its own unique design, but it’s also well-constructed. Long after the samples are gone, the boxes are still useful.
How about this spilled nail polish design, though?! I don’t know which I love more: the colorway or the pattern.

ON TO THE ITEMS!
Defy & Inspire Wear Resistant Nail Lacquer
Size: 0.17 oz (Full size: 0.5 oz)
RV: $2.38 (Full size: $6.99)
This is a darling little bottle of nail polish! Actually, I’m kind of glad we didn’t receive a full-size version. While I like the color, I already have something like it from another subscription box. This hot pink number is great for summer, but I wish Target had chosen a more interesting color. I would have loved a lime green or a teal polish; pinks are too “safe” a choice for me to be excited about it.
Other than that, I think this nail polish is alright. It is fairly opaque, needing only a couple of coats. It starts to chip after about a day, which is average for me. Nail polish does not tend to stay on my fingers for very long.
Dashing Diva GLOSS
Size: 6 strips (Full size: 34 strips)
RV: $1.23 (Full size: $6.99)
Oh, boy. When I saw this in Target’s product description, I was ecstatic. I love nail wraps! They are easy to use and look much better than when I paint my own nails.
Unfortunately, this is an instance when I should have read the fine print more carefully. This product comes with 6 strips, which I read to be 6 long plastic strips. However, this product comes with 6 individual nail wraps. Which simply doesn’t make sense to me 😑.
I get that this is a sample, but, really…They could have sent out a full set. Or, if they were going to only give out the “accent” pieces, then they should have coordinated the color of this set with the color of the nail polish so we would have a complete look. 0/10 on logic, Target BB!
Olly Undeniable Beauty Dietary Supplement Pouch
Size: 2 ct (Full size: 10 ct)
RV: $0.80 (Full size: $3.99
This is a gummy supplement that includes biotin, Vitamins C and E, and keratin. To me, it tastes like an off-brand gummy bear – the citrus flavor is there, but it tastes synthetic. Not to say that this is a bad thing since it’s not the worst tasting supplement I’ve ever had. For sure, I didn’t like the texture – it was way too sticky. I had to wash my hand after I touched it because I was leaving sticky residue everywhere. I won’t be buying a full-size version of this anytime soon.
Sally Hansen Nail Treatment Hard as Nails Serum
Size: 0.45 fl oz
RV: $4.99
How have I never heard of nail serums??? But of course, they would have had to exist! It totally makes sense, seeing as cuticles can get dry rather easily.
I’m in love with this product! The formula feels great on my skin and absorbs quickly, which is a “must” for something that’s supposed to go on the hands. I find it so inconvenient when hand lotions and creams take forever to set in…or worse, leave behind oily marks on surfaces! This serum has a similar texture to the Skin Inc My Daily Dose of Glow that I received in the May Allure box, so if you like that, then this nail serum is right for you!
essie Gel.Setter Top Coat
Size: 0.46 fl oz
RV: $10.00
Confession: Whenever I do my own nails, I don’t normally put on a base coat or a topcoat. I hope that doesn’t offend anyone out there. 😬 But I hardly ever do my own nails, so I never bother to buy more than the basic polish.
Now that I’ve tried this, I can’t go back to a “naked” polish! This top coat makes my shoddy nail job look more neat and professional. It also keeps my polish from chipping too soon. It extends the life of my mani for a few days longer!
eos Shea Better Coconut Hand Cream
Size: 1 fl oz (Full size: 2.5 fl oz)
RV: $1.20 (Full size: $2.99)
I’m always wary when I see “coconut” in lotions because some scents are too strong. However, this hand cream smells lovely! It’s on the light side of that tropical, coconut-y scent, so it didn’t trigger any headaches. It also feels rich and smooth on my skin. I’m happy to put this into the rotation of hand creams for my purse!
Tweezerman 40th Anniversary Celebration Nail File
Size: 1 file
RV: $5.00
This is such a great nail file! The abrasive part works really well, and the decorated part is covered in sequence. Fancy!
I couldn’t find this exact file in Target or on the Tweezerman site. However, this brand offers similar files with cute designs for $5. I’m not sure I would purchase these at $5 a pop no matter how cute they are, but I’d be willing to buy a pack of plain, boring Tweezerman nail files any day!
ella+mila Soy Nail Polish Remover Wipes
Size: 1 ct (Full size: 5 ct)
RV: $1 (Full size: 4.99)
This product took me by surprise! I was expecting a regular nail polish remover wipe, but this ella+mila product is anything but.
Rather than the harsh acetone, this wipe uses a mixture of a soy base with lavender essential oil and vitamins to remove nail polish. I didn’t think it would work as well as my ol’ reliable nail polish remover…
But see for yourself! It works so quickly, it is able to remove 3 coats of nail polish with a top coat in about 10 seconds!
FINAL IMPRESSION
I’m on the fence about this Target Beauty Box. On one hand, the nail wraps and nail polish are so disappointing – and since this is a nail-themed box, those should have been the best products. On the other hand, I made some great discoveries! I suppose that’s the main purpose of a subscription box, though: to try out new-to-me products to see if I like them. So, in that sense, this box did its job.
